Aloha Valued Partners,

Thank you for your continued partnership with Highgate Hotels in Hawaii and providing the necessary

information to your clients and our mutual guests regarding Hawaii's travel and safety requirements.

The following Highgate Hotels in Hawaii will be implementing a new safety policy as follows:

Effective October 15, 2021 new and existing reservations arriving on or after October 15, 2021 at

'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, Park Shore Waikiki, Ambassador Hotel

Waikiki and Pearl Hotel Waikiki will be requiring all employees, hotel guests and patrons to show proof of

vaccination at check-in, accessing the hotel facilities, dining and event venues.

Below,  you will find our FAQ’s as it pertains to each of the above mentioned hotels.

The Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach Hotel and the Courtyard Marriott Waikiki Beach will require full

vaccination only for all employees effective October 15, 2021.

We do want to clarify that The State of Hawai’i Government Orders on traveling to Hawai’i are still in place

and individuals fully vaccinated in the United States or its Territories may enter Hawaii on domestic flights

without pre-travel testing/quarantine starting the 15th day after the completion of their vaccination. All

other travelers must have their negative test results from a Trusted Testing and Travel Partner (link is

external) within 72 hours of departing on their last leg of their trip to Hawaii. Anyone without a negative

test result PRIOR to departure must quarantine for 10 days upon arrival.

Effective October 15, 2021, ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach will require proof of full Covid-19 vaccination for all associates, guests and patrons. All new and existing hotel reservations, events and groups arriving on or after October 15, 2021 will require registered guests and occupants to present proof of full Covid-19 vaccination upon check-in.

 

1. How long will this new policy be in place? Is this just for 2021 Travel?

A - The duration of this policy is effective for arrivals on or after October 15, 2021 and beyond, until further notice.

2. Will guests that are arriving before October 15, 2021 but are still on property October 15 have

to be vaccinated?

A – No, All guests that arrive on or after October 15th will be required to be fully vaccinated. There may be some guests that arrived prior to October 15th with a stay through that date. The requirement will be based on the arrival date of October 15th & beyond.

3. If an unvaccinated guest(s) show up at hotel to check in, how will hotel manage?

A – Hotel will assist in finding alternative accommodations at the guest(s) expense that do not require vaccination to check in.

4. What if kids are travelling with their family and they’re not vaccinated?

A – Children under 12 are allowed hotel check-in exceptions when traveling with fully vaccinated guardians.

5. Does proof of a negative COVID-19 test count to check into hotel?

A – No, As of October 15, 2021, all employees, guests and patrons will be required to show proof of full vaccination to stay at the hotel or utilize any of the hotel facilities.

6. Are there any exemptions to this policy for guests checking into the hotel?

A – Yes, guests under 12 years of age are exempt from the fully vaccinated requirement to stay. Other exemptions include religious and medical reasons. A letter from their religious organization or from a medical professional will be required.

7. Will the hotel require vaccinations for those that have had COVID-19?

A – Yes, As of October 15, 2021 All Employees, Guests and Patrons will be required to provide proof of full vaccination regardless of whether or not they have had COVID-19.

8. What about visitors not staying at the hotel who would like to use Swell Bar or other establishments on property, do they need to be vaccinated?

A – As of October 15, 2021, all employees, guests, visitors, will be required to show proof of vaccination prior to accessing the hotel’s facilities, dining outlets and event venues.

9. What is an acceptable Proof of Vaccination to check in hotel?

A – All adults 18 years of age and older are required to show picture ID upon check in at the hotel and their Vaccination Card, Photo of Vaccination Card or their Vaccination card uploaded to the Hawaii SMART Health Card Verifier App or Safe Travels Hawaii Digital platform is acceptable. Hotel guests under 12 are exempt provided they are accompanied by fully vaccinated guardians.

10. What is the definition of full vaccination?

A – When checking into the hotel, “Full vaccination” means 15 days have passed after the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series which has been authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or 15 days have passed after a single-dose COVID-19 vaccination which has been authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

For example if a guest has completed their second dose on Oct 1, they will be able to check in on October 15

11. Which vaccines are permitted to check-in to ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach?

A - Individuals fully vaccinated in the United States or its Territories may check into the hotel with vaccination record document of Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, or any vaccine approved by the FDA for US Residents.

B - For International travelers, the State of Hawaii still requires all travelers to secure a negative test within

72 hours before departure to Hawaii from a Trusted Testing and Travel Partner. The hotel will accept

Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Astra Zeneca or the vaccinations approved by your country of residence.

12. Will I still be able to hold my event?

A – Yes, we will absolutely still be able to successfully execute your group and program, all guests now need to be vaccinated. Please contact your sales manager for additional details regarding the new vaccination policy.
